The project for the new departments of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Pavia involves a significant urban and architectural regeneration of the area between Via Taramelli, Via Bassi, and Via Aselli, with the construction of a new, modern facility dedicated to education and scientific research.

The new Department of Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences will cover approximately 30,000sqm, replacing outdated buildings and creating more functional and contemporary spaces. In particular, the new teaching hub inaugurated in 2023 already occupies 2,500sqm and includes classrooms, teaching labs, and research laboratories.

The new department will serve as a meeting point for biologists, physicians, and chemists, with a strong focus on high-quality research and education. This mission is further supported by the introduction of innovative programs such as the new English-language master’s degree in Industrial Nanobiotechnologies for Pharmaceuticals.

In summary, the project for the new Pharmaceutical Sciences departments in Pavia represents a major effort in infrastructural and cultural renewal, offering extensive spaces for teaching and research, significant public investment, and a strategic vision for the future of pharmaceutical and biomedical science in Lombardy and beyond.
