Winner of an international competition, the proposal for the former Juvenile Prison site in Pesaro transforms a place of painful memory into a new, vibrant piece of the city. At the heart of the project is the creation of a large park-square – designed as a space for gathering and participation, where pathways and relationships take precedence over boundaries, connecting the new green area to the urban fabric and enhancing the historic presence of the former Church of Santa Maria degli Angeli.

The park is shaped by a network of paths that intertwine with sports areas, playgrounds, and resting spaces – designed especially for teenagers and young people. The vegetation is selected to create a favorable microclimate and a rich sensory experience, with tree species that provide wind protection and improve the livability of outdoor spaces.

The new residences overlook the park with green loggias and arcades, encouraging visual continuity and interaction between public and private spaces. Materials such as red brick and copper recall the local architectural tradition, while solutions like vertical gardens and natural ventilation systems ensure comfort, sustainability, and high living quality – giving the area a renewed, inclusive, and contemporary identity.
