The project incorporates numerous innovative features that integrate environmental sustainability, urban regeneration, and social inclusion. The guiding concept is the reinterpretation of the historical agricultural grid as the framework for the new settlement, enhancing the relationship between hillside and plain, and introducing a continuous green system that connects Florence to Scandicci.

The Greve Park becomes the ecological backbone and a space for soft mobility. Mobility is restructured through the creation of an urban boulevard along Viale Nenni, new tram stops, and pedestrian and cycling routes. The settlement is organized into diverse urban fabrics – such as village, courtyards, market-loggia, and craft spine – promoting both functional and social diversity.

Public spaces are conceived as relational devices, with therapeutic gardens and urban allotments. The project is zero-emission, combining passive strategies (green roofs, reflective materials, solar greenhouses) and active systems (geothermal energy, photovoltaics) to ensure high climatic comfort. Its flexible layout allows for phased implementation and a balanced relationship between public and private development.
