The project transforms Campo di Marte into a large, open, and accessible urban park, overcoming its current fragmentation. Sports and recreational areas are integrated into a unified green system designed to enhance community well-being and the livability of the neighborhood. Nature becomes structure – connecting functions and reshaping public space.

The Franchi Stadium is redeveloped with a focus on preserving and enhancing Nervi’s original design. The new stands rest lightly atop the existing structure, respecting its geometry and proportions. The project introduces pure, contemporary volumes that engage in dialogue with historical memory, without disrupting the rhythm and strength of the structural ring.

Complementary functions – such as skyboxes, lounges, retail and cultural spaces—activate the stadium throughout the week. Access points have been reimagined to ensure fluidity, safety, and inclusiveness, aligned with international standards. Public space is enriched with new plazas, pathways, and landscape views.

The intervention embraces sustainable solutions: durable materials, integrated energy strategies, and a careful approach to environmental impact. The project combines prefabrication, structural reversibility, and respect for the existing work, restoring both the stadium and the park to a central role in the urban life of Florence.
