Winner of a national design competition, the new Uta School Campus is conceived as an inclusive and innovative learning environment, deeply rooted in the local territory and inspired by its agricultural heritage. Positioned between the town and the surrounding countryside, the project envisions a “farm school” where nature and architecture blend into a vibrant, open educational landscape.

The layout is organized around a covered street/agorà – the public heart of the campus – that connects the primary school, secondary school, and civic center. The buildings are arranged in a comb-like configuration, with classrooms opening onto green areas and workshops placed along more public fronts. Outdoor spaces include educational gardens, sports fields, and landscaped areas that promote outdoor learning and interaction with nature.

Sustainability is a key design driver: green roofs, permeable surfaces, and new tree plantings contribute to a better microclimate. The buildings ensure safety and comfort, while advanced systems and photovoltaic panels help reduce environmental impact.

Interior spaces are flexible and accessible, featuring ergonomic furnishings and informal areas that encourage inclusion and social interaction. Facilities such as the auditorium, gym, and distributed library make the campus a true civic center – open to the wider community beyond school hours.
